Recipe: Quick Fix Healthy “Baked” Apples

“Baked” Apples
(gluten/dairy/soy/corn/egg free)

These apples are delicious! They can be made in the oven, on the stove, or in the microwave for a quick fix side dish, or even a dessert. I made it the other day with lamb burgers, and they really hit the spot.

4 apples
2 teaspoons brown sugar (or honey)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon gluten-free flour

Making It:

  1. Cut up your apples.
  2. Mix together all of your ingredients.
  3. Cook for about 4 minutes until apples are soft.

The flour works as a thickener, and it will leave you with a nice sweet sauce for the apples. My sauce sunk to the bottom of the bowl, so I had the move the apples around to get some out.
