Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt
{gluten/soy/corn/potato/coconut/egg/lactose free, with a dairy free option}

This recipe is a play on my Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Yogurt Dip, and has been inspired by Crunchy Creamy Sweet’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt recipe.

I was recently sent some Bob’s Red Mill Almond Flour, which is delicious and tastes great in cookies. But I wanted to do something more than basic cookies with it. One of the things I miss eating the most is chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, so I figured making something similar would be a good way to test out the flour. If you can’t have nuts or lactose, though, I’ve provided some easy substitutions.

Ingredients:
1 cup almond meal/flour (Or hazelnut. Nut-free? Try oat, coconut, sorghum, or sweet rice flour.)
1/2 cup brown sugar (If you like less sugar, feel free to decrease this amount.)
1/4 cup white sugar (If you like less sugar, feel free to decrease this amount.)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon oil (I used canola. If you decrease the sugar, make sure you slightly decrease the oil.)
1/2 cup chocolate chips (Enjoy Life brand)
12 oz lactose-free yogurt (I used honey flavored, but any neutral flavor would work. Also, for dairy free, any other yogurt would work.)
1-2 tablespoons vanilla (optional) – I’m allergic, so I didn’t use any.

Making It:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients (except for the chocolate chips).
  2. Add the wet ingredients (except for the yogurt) and mix.
  3. Add in the chocolate chips and mix.
  4. Add in the yogurt and mix.
  5. Transfer to a sealable container, seal it, and put it in the freezer.
  6. Freeze overnight or at least 6-7 hours.

And you can use any flour that you would use to make chocolate chip cookies with.
