It’s so hard to review some kinds of products. I can only describe so much, while some aspects of a product have to be experienced. Felt, smelled, tasted. Today I’m going to try to tell you about a really amazing company whose products fall into that experiential category. I mean really, I wish you could smell all of the products I get to tell you about today.
Earth Mama Angel Baby is a company that I really love. I love their products, I love their message, I love the support they give moms and babies. I could try to sum up their message for you, but I’m just going to share their mission straight off of their website. I really don’t think I could possibly say it any better.
We manufacture natural and organic products that work, combining generations of women’s wisdom and traditional plant medicine with the safety and assurances of contemporary evidence based research. If it doesn’t measure up to Mama’s standards, it doesn’t leave the building.
Is that a great mission statement, or what? Earth Mama Angel Baby products are made with zero toxins, as many organic ingredients as possible, and formulas that nurture moms and babies through all stages of pregnancy, child birth, babies, and even pregnancy loss.
I wish that I had the time and space to tell you about each and every one of their products (and I wish I had a bottom-less wallet so that I could buy all of their products), but I am going to tell you about some really great ones today.
Let’s start off with a product that I wish I’d bought when I was pregnant with my daughter (but will totally use with all of my subsequent pregnancies). Natural Stretch Oil is a 100% natural herbal oil for growing stomachs and breasts. It smells unbelievable without being overwhelming (sensitive pregnant noses shouldn’t be bothered by the slightly citrus-y scent) and it rubs in really well. It has never left a greasy residue on my skin, which is really important because you certainly don’t want all your shirts to be stained with oil spots. While nothing can really prevent stretch marks if you’re genetically pre-disposed to them, this plant based oil will help keep skin moisturized to help deter them. Organic Calendula, Chamomile, and Borage seed oil help relieve itchy skin and stimulate your skin’s natural elasticity. It’s great for after pregnancy too to keep your skin all over super soft and smelling yummy. I LOVE this spray.
Another great mom product is the Earth Mama Body Butter. Another amazing-smelling product to keep your skin smooth and soft. This lotion is herb-infused and lightly citrus scented like the Stretch Oil. It’s not greasy and rubs in really easily. My skin feels great after I use this lotion, and I know it’ll be my go-to lotion when the weather gets colder and my skin inevitably cracks and bleeds. I really like that this lotion has a nice invigorating scent to it. Sometimes it’s enough of a pick me up to help me get back on the mommy-horse after a long day with a crabby baby.
Speaking of babies – Angel Baby Shampoo and Body Wash and Angel Baby Calming Lavender Shampoo and Body Wash are great. You can’t beat the way they smell - like a creamsicle. It’s orange and vanilla scented, and it really really makes me want a creamsicle. The Calming Lavender Shampoo and Body Wash smells so good and is a really great option for night-time bathing because the lavender is really relaxing. These shampoos are made from organic castille soaps and essential oils, so they get baby clean gently, but just be aware that they aren’t tear-free. Which I personally like, because tear-free shampoos and soaps only get that way with the addition of lots of chemicals. I’m completely ok with keeping those chemicals off of my baby.
Their shampoos contain no artificial foaming fragrances, foaming agents, sulfates, preservatives, parabens, or dyes. What that means is that they are totally safe for your baby. The shampoo is foamy and mild, and gets baby squeaky clean. Which is exactly what you want in baby shampoo.
Angel Baby Lotion is just as wonderful as the mommy-version, but nice and mild for babies. It also smells like a creamsicle, so there’s that little perk. I really do wish there was a way to make this blog post scratch and sniff, because smelling is believing with these products. Like all of their products, there are zero toxins in Angel Baby Lotion, and it’s made with organic ingredients to sooth baby’s skin. It’s even made with organic Rooibos, which is soothing for eczema, diaper rash, and skin allergies.
I really can’t say enough good stuff about Earth Mama Angel Baby products. They are safe, smell great, and you really can feel good about putting these products on your skin and your baby’s skin. You definitely need to check them out.
