Green Bean Fries
A few months ago I was making greens beans and accidentally left them in the oven for too long. The result turned out to be crispy goodness. I love french fries, especially ones that are homemade. Being allergic to both white potato and sweet potato makes eating them a bit difficult these days, so I’m glad I accidentally stumbled across an alternative.
Although my green bean fries don’t taste like french fries, they provide a much welcomed crunch and delicious flavor. They would even make a good appetizer for a Super Bowl party!
1 lb cooked green beans
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground mustard
- Spread out the green beans on a silicone baking mat or parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle the rest of the ingredients on them.
- Broil for about 10 minutes, then turn the oven off and leave the green beans in there for another 5ish minutes to make sure they are nice and crispy.
Quick Tip – When making the “fries”, make sure you use a silicone baking mat (my favorite is the one I have from Good Cook) or something similar to keep them from sticking.
