Erica – Owner/Blogger

I hate talking about myself, so this is totally awkward…

My name is Erica, and I am a child of God, wife, mama, traveler, foodie, and wanna-be crafter. My hubby Joe and I have been married for 6 years and we have a 3 year old son named Zeke. We’ve lived in 3 different states and have moved 7 times, but we currently reside on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

I started this blog in 2010 to share my very intense pregnancy story with friends and family. When I wrote my first post, I realized how much I loved writing and knew I wanted to continue. So, this blog has since progressed into my writings about cooking and recipes, travel, life with food allergies, and green living.

I love trying out new foods, but have a tough time doing so because of my extensive list of food allergies (80ish foods). I’m constantly searching Pinterest for new and exciting recipes that I can reinvent for my family. I’m all about making recipes from fresh, organic ingredients. I also love traveling (Florida is a fav spot), meal planning, hanging with my hubby and son, collecting kitchen gadgets, and keeping up with sports (H-O-K-I-E-S Hokies & G-Men, Go Big Blue!).

I think in hashtags, which I guess is a side effect of frequent social media usage #bloggerproblems. I like to use ridiculous phrases like YOLO, legit, redic, whatevs, totes, and selfie because they make me laugh. But most of all I like to make others laugh. My son thinks I’m the funniest person in the world. It doesn’t get much better than that. #mysonthinksirock

I am 28 years old, and married my amazing husband in 2007.  We just had our first baby in February.  Her name is Eisley Adeline, and she is the joy of our lives.  She is stubborn and crabby and ridiculously cute.  Her smiles are the best.
I am a portrait photographer, love crafting and DIY type activities, avid reader, christian woman, and budding cloth diaper advocate.  Since becoming pregnant I’ve really felt the need to attempt to simplify our lives, be more aware of the products we use and what they contain, and try to find products that are natural and chemical-free to use around our daughter.  I strive to be a loving and fun wife and mother.  I am definitely a work in progress, but it’s the process of changing and growing that makes life more interesting.
