Dairy-Free Cherry Banana Flaxseed Milkshake Recipe

Shiloh Farms sent me a bunch of goodies from their site – Golden Flax Seeds, Almond Flour, Walnut Pieces, Brazil Nuts, and Sundried Bing Pitted Cherries. There are a ton of recipes I could come up with using those ingredients, but I remembered that I don’t have a milkshake recipe here on the site, so I thought I would try one out by making something unique. I was concerned that using both sundried cherries and whole flax seeds would taste weird, but it totally didn’t! The milkshake was delicious. I seriously wanted to lick my cup clean. The cherries aren’t overly sour or sweet, and balance out the sweetness of the banana very well.

I had never used whole flax seeds or even golden flax seeds before, so I was nervous about incorporating them in this recipe. My nerves were quickly shaken when I saw that they ground up really well. I love that they didn’t add any sort of flavor, but filled my milkshake with fiber and omega-3s.

Dairy-Free Cherry Banana Flaxseed Milkshake Recipe

One of the best parts of my milkshake was that I was able to turn the leftovers into both ice pops and ice cream! Super versatile!

Ingredients:

2 teaspoons golden flaxseeds

½ cup sundried cherries

¾ cup almond milk

3 frozen sliced bananas

1 teaspoon alcohol-free vanilla extract

Making It:

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.

Shiloh Farms sells grains, nuts, flour, honey, dried fruits, preserves, and more. All of their products are free of both artificial ingredients and preservatives. They even have a certified gluten-free section, which is where all of my products came from. I’m especially loving their almond flour!

After looking around their site, I was happy to discover that their products are sold both online and in stores. I found a few locations within 30 miles of where I live, which is nice because if I ever run out of almond flour and can’t wait for it to ship from online, I can pick some up at a store that carries their brand!

When I use to make homemade shakes for myself I’d always put in flaxseed. It’s so good for you. This looks yummy!
